The following forms will need to be completed before both parties appear in person to apply for the Marriage license:

  1. Notice of Intention of Marriage - This form needs to include all biographical information-Mother/Father’s Surname of birth or adoption
  2. Supplement to Notice of Intention of Marriage
  3. Marriage Worksheet - This form needs to list the planned date of marriage, planned place of marriage and name and address of the officiant.

When you have completed all 3 forms you will submit them electronically to the Town Clerk’s office and an email confirmation will be sent to you.

Both parties must appear together in the office of the Town Clerk by appointment only, to review a list of legal impediments (as required by the state), swear to the truth of the information entered on the notice of intention of marriage, that there are no legal impediments to the marriage and to sign the necessary forms.

The fee to file intentions is $25.00 which is due the day of your appointment.

Your marriage license will be available for you to pick up 3 days after you file your intentions.

The marriage license is good for 60 days (your wedding date should be within 60 days after which time it expires).

After your marriage has taken place, the Officiant who is performing your ceremony shall sign the Marriage license and return it the Town Clerks office in a pre-addressed envelope we provide.

At this time, we will register the marriage and send you one complimentary certified copy of the marriage license. You may request additional copies for a fee of $10 per copy using our online payment portal.
